9-Day Adventure: Hoi An to Sài Gòn (HCM trail and Coastal roads)

This is an amazing motorbike tour adventure, where we take you riding Central Southern Vietnamese winding mountain routes that can cut your breath! Through striking slope mountain passes and coastline roads, we bring you closer to the profound natural beauty of the countryside, and open the doors for a superb experience and long-lasting memories. With your baggage full of adrenaline-pumping moments and after seeing the best of the most arresting views, we are sure you will want more. Next time, bring your friends along, and fill your photo books with pictures of a wonderful time together.

Day 1: Hoi An – Kham Duc (145 km)

Today we ride through the traditional rice paddies, and all the way to Cham Tower. It is a site with much historical interest, as it played a huge role in the American War. Riding on the motorbike tour along the Ho Chi Minh (HCM) trail, we stop in the awe-inspiring waterfall, where we can swim and relax.
The motorbike tour continues straight into the highlands and the ethnic minority villages located there. There, you can learn a whole lot about the Vietnamese Civil War that took place in late 1900s. Needless to say, the natural landscape provides breath-taking views that are hard to miss.
This day’s tour ends in the evening (around 5:00 p.m.), when we reach today’s overnight stay, the small city of Kham Duc.

Day 2: Kham Duc – Kon Tum (180 km)

The HCM trail takes us along Highway 14, to Kon Tum. With picturesque views and a break to swim and relax in the impressive waterfall, we visit the ethnic minority communities of Ba Na, Nung, and Tay, among so many others, and learn much about their cultures, traditions and customs. Then the Ho Chi Minh trail takes us to the French-built Wooden Church that took 6 years to construct, as well as the famous Rong House.
We spend the night in Kon Tum.

Day 3: Kon Tum – Buon Me Thuot (250 km)

Today on the motorbike tour we leave Kon Tum behind and head to Buon Me Thuot. We will be exploring the daily life of the Ede minority villages and the Ba Nas, and learn much about their interesting traditions and culture. Some of our next stops include a sea lake named the Eye of Pleiku, and the rubber plantation, before we reach Buon Me Thuot, with the amazing Dak Lak museum.
We spend the night in Buon Me Thuot.

Day 4: Buon Me Thuot – Dray Sap – Lak Lake (120 km)

The biggest and most impressive waterfall in Vietnam is the Dray Sap waterfall, which is where we will be heading for today on the motorbike tour. It is an idyllic place to relax and cool off in its waters, right before we visit the local communities and familiarize yourself with coffee-processing. The best coffee in Vietnam is found here, and you can taste delightful flavors.
Following the small roads, in the afternoon, we go to the Lak Lake that will be hosting us.
We spend the night in a homestay or a resort and have a glass of beer (or 2!) with the locals.

Day 5: Lak Lake – Da Lat (165 km)

We say goodbye to our hosts and drive to Da Lat. You can taste the experience during the motorbke tour of an elephant riding to pass the lake, or you can alternatively opt for a boat ride –both not included in the price of the tour. After we cross the lake, we reach the M’lieng ethnic minority village and then to the Jun village, where we can learn more about how the tribe of M’nong lives. The coffee plantations, located on the mountain, is our next stop. The beauty surrounding us is extraordinary, while the Pren waterfall and our final stop -Da Lat- are both places that can leave us jawless.

6: Da Lat – The Tea town (150 km)

Take a step outside the box and lets travel roads not everybody knows of their existence! We get off the highroad and follow a route not explored before by easy riders. Today’s motorbike tour stopovers will be at the Bare Mountains, the Silk-Making Shop, the Coffee Farm, and the Greatest Fall; all amazing sites that wait to impress us with their uniqueness and natural, wild beauty. We have lunch and then keep on going to reach the Tea city, and the Tea-Making family with the distinguishing shop.
Tonight we spend the night at a local family’s homestay, where we will enjoy swimming or hanging around the swimming pool, have a great barbeque party, and become bewitched by the raw beauty of the nearby waterfall.

Day 7: The Tea Town – Mui Ne (150 km)

If you love riding, then the Long Way Down Road is cut for you! We follow this road all the way to Mui Ne. On our way, we stop to take pictures and do some sightseeing, rest, and have lunch, and then head for the Sand Dune village, located on the beach of Mui Ne.
We spend the night at a family resort, where we savor a delightful dinner with seafood (e.g. lobsters), and enjoy a relaxing massage before we go to sleep.

Day 8: Mui Ne – Vung Tau (160 km)

Every other trip with the same itinerary would take you to the same routes, following Highway 1, taking you from Mui Ne to Saigon. However, we have enriched this motorbike tour and upgraded this experience, and offer you a journey where you can see the huge 50m long Buddha statue from up close, situated on Ta Cu mountain, as well as the place where local Dragon fruits grow. A cable car will take us to the homeland of these fruits and not only eat them, but also learn about the culture of the people living in that area, as well as their daily routine as farmers.
A Great Ocean Road is where we will find ourselves on, after lunch. You are about to explore the Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea, the famous and historic site, in ways no one else has before.
Our overnight stay is at a 2-star luxury hotel.

Day 9: Sai Gon (150 km)

Today we will be visiting the Long Tan cross battlefields, the Kangaroo airport, the Nui Dat camp, and Dat Do; places unknown to most people and guides! The afternoon is a good time to explore the popular Cu Chi Tunnels, and find out all about the history surrounding the site, both as it is written and inside out! Here, you can also release some steam with some gun-shooting (you can hire an M16, or an AK47).
At around 4:00 p.m., we arrive at our hotel in Sai gon, and the motorbike tour ends, hopefully with the best of memories to follow you home!
